Application Process

To apply for a First Commonwealth scholarship, the following steps must be completed:

1. Applicants should confirm they meet the eligibility requirements.
2. Complete the online application accurately with all required personal, academic, and educational institution details.
3. Attach a Letter of Recommendation on an organization/company letterhead to your application. You will not be able to complete your application without one.
4. For Adult Learners/Returning Education: Please provide a brief statement as to what you have done in the gap between graduation and returning to school, and how a scholarship is significant to you.

Complete all steps by the provided deadline; late submissions will not be considered. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Doug Snellen at dsnellen@firstcomcu.org.

Eligibility Requirements

Students entering this year's application process must qualify with any of the following:

• Must be a high school senior graduating in the current year or an adult learner returning to school (must be a minimum of 1 year post-high school).
• Must plan to attend a two- or four-year college, trade school, or an alternative full-time education program.
• Must be a member of First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union.

Ineligible applicants include the following categories:

• First Commonwealth employees
• First Commonwealth volunteers
• First Commonwealth Board Members
• Any familly members of the above categories
